ORDINATIONS IN ORANGE COUNTY
On Friday, September 25, 2009, the Commemoration of Blessed Launcelot
Andrewes, at Saint Matthew's Church, Newport Beach, California, Mark
Becher and Blake Schwendimann were ordained as Deacons in the Church of
God. The Right Reverend Denver Presley Hutchins, Bishop of New
Orleans and Episcopal Visitor to the Diocese of the Holy Trinity, was
the ordaining Bishop and the celebrant of the Holy Eucharist. The
Most Reverend Robert Sherwood Morse, retired Archbishop of the Anglican
Province of Christ the King, was the homilist. The Reverend
Stephen Coulter Scarlett, Rector of Saint Matthew's Parish, presented
the candidates. The two new Deacons, who read for orders under
the supervision of Father Scarlett, will initially be assigned to serve
at Saint Matthew's, Newport Beach.
