The Anglican Catholic Church

How to start a mission of the

Anglican Catholic Church

in your community:

1.  Contact the Department of Missions of the Diocese in which your community is located.  If you live in the western part of the United States, you are in the Diocese of the Holy Trinity; you should contact the chairman of the Commision on Missions in this Diocese.  If you live in another State (or another part of the world), find your diocese on the Anglican Catholic Church website.

2.   Make a list of people in your community who might be interested in becoming part of a traditional Anglican/Episcopal parish.  You might begin with family members, friends, and acquaintances.  A discreet advertisement in your local newspaper -- perhaps among the paper's weekly church advertisements -- might be a good way to find additional people.  The Department of Missions can help you with the wording of your advertisement.

3.   Invite people to join you for Morning or Evening Prayer on Sunday, either in your home or in a community building.  Consider making such a gathering a regular weekly occurrence.  Also consider a regular weekday evening meeting to discuss topics from Scripture or a book on Church history.  (The Department of Missions can suggest appropriate materials.)

4.   In consultation with the Department of Missions, set up a meeting at which a representative of the Diocese will be present to meet people and to answer questions.

5.   If there is sufficient interest, the Deparment of Missions will arrange for a clergyman to visit your community regularly to conduct services and administer the sacraments.
