Makeup Tips for Fair Skin
Makeup Tips for Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic condition that is prevalent among light skin individuals, primarily Caucasians. It's characterized by facial redness that may appear on the chin, forehead, cheeks, and nose. Inflammation, pustules, papules, spider-like blood vessels, and frequent blushing are all signs of rosacea.
Those who are between the ages of 30-50 and women are also more at risk for rosacea. Approximately 14 million have this condition alone in the United States. While rosacea is not normally a severe condition, it can have an adverse affect on an individual's appearance. This affect could lower self esteem if they become very self-conscious about their looks.
One way to cover up the symptoms of rosacea is to wear makeup. The following are rosacea makeup tips that will enhance your appearance and boost self-confidence.
First and foremost, apply gentle products to hydrate and clean your face. Avoid applying any materials that are rough and abrasive, as this could irritate your skin. The less product you use, the better, as doing so will limit irritants from being exposed to the skin. One way to test out a product is to use it on your neck or arms first before applying it to your face.
A green-tinted base is helpful for rosacea patients as it balances skin tone and hides skin redness. Concerning foundation and concealers, oil-free versions are best especially when pustules and papules are present. The foundation should be the same as your natural complexion, while the concealer should be a shade lighter. Instead of using your fingertips or sponge to apply the foundation, use anti-bacterial brushes to avoid getting a skin infection.
Mineral powder makeup is recommended because it doesn't contain any ingredients capable of irritating your skin. Some are able to mask skin redness to the color of your skin. Blushers aren't necessary as rosacea has enough color as it is, but if preferred then mineral powder blushers can be used. If you have rosacea in the eye area, then you can try mineral powder eye shadow. As for the lips, look for a neutral shade that resembles your natural color to avoid emphasizing the skin inflammation.
