THE ORDER FOR THE LORD'S SUPPER
On Sundays and Festivals, when Morning Prayer is not read publicly before the Holy Eucharist, an Introit Psalm at the beginning of the Order, and an Old Testament Lesson, appointed by authority, and a Canticle, may be read before the Epistle. When this is done, the obligation to read Morning Prayer is set aside.
The Deacon's part may be taken by any ordained Minister, or any layman, so far as he may be duly authorized by the Bishop. In the absence of any such to assist at the Service, the Priest shall say the portion assigned to the Deacon.
It is fitting for the Priest to stand at the midst of the holy Table for the Creed, the Offertory, the Intercession, the Consecration, and the Gloria in Excelsis.
The Service may begin with the Lord’s Prayer, said by the Priest alone.
The Priest, standing at the Table, shall say in a distinct and audible voice, the people devoutly kneeling,
ALMIGHTY God unto whom all hearts be open, all desires known and from Whom no secrets are hid: C1earnse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of thy Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love thee and worthily magnify thy holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Then shall the Priest, turning to the people, read all the TEN COMMANDMENTS; and the people, still kneeling, shall after every commandment ask God’s mercy for their transgression of the duty therein (either according to the letter or according to the spiritual import thereof) for the time past, and grace to keep the same for the time to come, as follows:

HOLY in truth art thou, and blessed in truth, Almighty God, our. heavenly. Father, for that thou off thy tender mercy didst give thine only Son Jesus Christ to take our. nature upon him, and to suffer death upon the Cross for our redemption; who made. there, by his one oblation of himself
once offered; a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction, for the sins of the whole world; and did institute, and in his holy Gospel command us to continue, a perpetual memorial of that his precious death, until his coming. again:
| Who, in the same night that he
was betrayed, *took Bread; and when he had given thanks to thee, he †brake it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take, eat, ‡this is my Body which is given for you: Do this in remembrance of me. Likewise after supper, he §took the Cup; and, when hehad given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of this; for ¶this is my Blood, of the. New Covenant, which is shed for you. and for many for the remission of sins: Do this, as oft as ye. shall drink. it, in remembrance of me. |

And we humbly beseech. thee, most merciful Father, to send down thy holy and life-giving Spirit upon us and upon these thy gifts, that the Bread which we break may be the communion of the Body of Christ, and the Cup which we bless may be the communion of his Blood; and grant, that all we who are partakers of this Holy Communion may be fulfilled with thy grace and heavenly benediction, and made one body in thy Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Let us pray.
WE do not presume to come to this thy Table; O merciful Lord, Trusting in our own righteousness, But in thy manifoldd and great mercies.
